POHONDA, Joan Marie (Rothel)

to January 15, 2014:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan after a courageous battle with cancer, with her husband and sister at her side in the Peter Lougheed Hospice in Calgary.
Joan had many hobbies which included crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitching, sewing and organizing her personal picture albums. Joan was a very avid gardener which included organic vegetables. She always worked tirelessly with love, creating a beautiful flower paradise around her home.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Malcolm and Annie and her three infant brothers. Joan is survived by her beloved husband Zenas (Sonny) from Calgary, her sister Marlene Bennett, Merritt B.C., nephews Carl (Coraleen), Maple Ridge B.C. And Dale (Crystal), Merritt, B.C, her great nieces Haley and Skylar, Merritt, and great nephew Riley, Maple Ridge, and last but not least her beloved cat Zoe.
Joan will be dearly missed and will always be remembered in our hearts.
