It is with great sadness that the family of John Storey announces his passing, in his 48th year on January 1, 2010 at Trenton Memorial Hospital in Ontario after losing his courageous battle with cancer. John is lovingly remembered and survived by his mom and dad Anthony & Brenda Storey, sister Angela & Kenneth Geoffrey and niece Jennifer of Victoria BC, brother Andrew & Sandy Storey with nephews AJ and Steven Storey of Sparwood BC and sister Susan & David Kopchiak with niece Kaitlyn and nephew Brett of Medicine Hat, AB. John will be sorely missed by his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the UK and friends from across Canada. A Military service took place in Trenton Ontario Thursday January 7 with interment at Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria, B.C. John provided Canada 20 years of dedicated distinguished service as an Aviation Technician where he mastered the CC130 Hercules aircraft. Postings included Edmonton, 435 Squadron Winnipeg and finally 8 Wing Tenton. His outstanding contributions are highlighted by his numerous deployments in support of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan, earning him the Southwest Asia and General Service Medals. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
