It is with great sadness that the children of Ken announce his passing after battling dementia. Ken passed away peacefully at Broadmead Lodge in Victoria B.C.

Ken was predeceased by his mother Julia, and father Brynley, and his beloved wife Sharron.

Ken was born, raised and schooled in Fernie B.C. where he met and married his high school sweetheart.

After high school Ken enlisted in the Air Force where he became a navigator and always loved to fly. Following his time in the service Ken continued his education by correspondence and achieved a high level of electronics knowledge and skills.

Ken then went to work with the Department of Transport where he was stationed first at Spring Island on the west coast of Vancouver Island and then Alert NWT.

After his time with DOT Ken moved to Fernie and worked for the cablevision company, then to Cominco in Trail where he was the supervisor of communications.

Following his time at Cominco Ken moved to Yellowknife where he worked at designing and maintaining the mine's communications an electronics systems.

After retiring from the mine, Ken moved to Sylvan Lake Alberta where he resided for 6 years.

Seeking a warmer climate, Ken them moved to Sidney BC.

Throughout his life Ken was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

An avid stamp collector, Ken was active in many local stamp clubs.

During his time in Castlegar he was very active in Minor Baseball enjoying coaching as well as umpiring.

While in Sylvan Lake Ken became very active in the Senior's Centre, organizing several government courses to help seniors for which he received the 2008 Minister's Senior Service Award at a lunch with the premier, and was later named Citizen of the Year.

Ken is survived by his 2 sisters, 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
