KRAPS:

Heinz Kraps aged 75, died February 23, 2017 in sunny St. Lucia, in the Caribbean. 

Heinz is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanne, of Fernie, BC. He is also survived by his son, Ike of Vancouver, BC, daughter Cynthia (Brian) Ewanchuk of Redmond, WA, and grandchildren Izabel and Jake, whom he loved deeply. 

Heinz was born in Friedrichroda, Germany on February 18, 1942, the second youngest of seven children. He was predeceased by his parents, Artur and Gertrude Kraps.

Heinz was a skilled Sheet Metal Worker and insulator who had his own company, working in Surrey, BC, and Fort Nelson and surrounding areas of Fort Nelson BC.

He was a hardworking man who, when time permitted, took time to enjoy nature around him. Heinz loved the outdoors and enjoyed his life in Fernie where he had many opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife from his front porch and yard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Heinz will forever have a place in our hearts.

Heinz’s funeral service was held on March 4, 2017 at Cherished Memories, “Serenity Chapel” in Fernie. 

Should friends desire, donations may be made to the SPCA in Cranbrook, in Heinz’s name, since Heinz had a gentle soul for all animals be it wild or domestic.
