SCOTT:
Krystyna passed peacefully from this life in the early evening hours of January 27th following a recent illness. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Krystyna was born in Uganda, Africa on March 3, 1946 but has lived in Canada since 1949. Krystyna graduated from Oyen, married, and resided in many communities throughout BC and AB while raising her daughter Terri-Ann.
Though Krystyna lived in Sparwood, her heart remained in Alberta where she cherished childhood memories of driving with her brother Richard as a young, free-spirited teen. As an adult, she also enjoyed spending time camping with family and friends, and fishing the rivers and lakes.
Krystyna will be dearly missed by her loving family and her wonderful friends and coworkers at the Black Nugget. Her spirit now soars with the eagles she loved and collected, and is once again “returning home”.
Krystyna is survived by her mother Frances Garszczal of Oyen, her daughter Terri-Ann (Tim) of Sparwood, 2 grandchildren: John (Meghan) Garszczal of Sparwood and Krystal (Mike) Garszczal of Fernie, her sister Sophie (Nick) Huzar of Calgary, and brothers Richard (Diane) Garszczal of New Jersey, and James Garszczal of Oyen. Also left to mourn her passing are nieces and nephews: Rhonda (Tom), Dwayne (Heather), Rachael (Jay), Julie (Steve), Richie, Patty, Michael, Kasha, and Katie, great nieces and nephews: Kyle, Zach, Nathan, Morgan, Jason, and Steven, her auntie Honoretta, her first great grandchild, Ryatt James Garszczal born on April 17, 2013, and very special friends, Diane, Joan, Sharon and Dave. She was predeceased by her father John Garszczal in 1972, her brother Bruno Garszczal in 1994, and her uncle Bruno Mikosz in 1997.
