With heavy hearts we regret to announce the unexpected death of our father and brother, Mark George Ferris Sr. at the age of 61 in Fernie, BC on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
Mark was born in Sydney, NS on December 17, 1954 where he was a prominent businessman and active member of the community. He owned and operated a multi generational family business for 35 years.
Mark is survived by his son, Mark Ferris Jr. of Nova Scotia and his daughter Angela (Blaine) Ferris-Hunter of Alberta, sisters Sheila Bulgar (Hamish) of England and Deborah Ferris (Robert Hewitt) of Ontario, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ferris Joseph Ferris, his mother Helen Marie Ferris, and his brother James Ferris.
Cremation has taken place in Fernie, BC. Mark will be returned to his beloved home in Cape Breton, NS.
The family of Mark would like to thank the friends & family in the city of Fernie for making their community his home for the last 6 years.
