Mary ‘Anne’ Parsons

1939 - 2010

It is with great sorrow that the family of Anne Parsons announces her passing on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 71 years of age.

Anne was born and raised in Victoria, BC. Shortly after high school she attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing graduating in the class of A-1961 and forging strong friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime. Anne was adventurous and loved to travel. She combined this passion with her new career by working in Hawaii, eventually returning to Vancouver where she obtained her degree in Nursing and then found her way to Fernie, BC where she met her husband and started a family. Throughout her 32 year career Anne continued to travel; embarking on adventures with family, friends and A61 classmates. She has been everywhere from Alaska to Australia, the Great Wall to Greece, Italy to Istanbul, Russia, the UK and the Panama Canal to name a few. She enjoyed being out in the world, weather it was sailing on one of a dozen cruises or sun tanning by the lake out at her cabin.

Anne’s other enjoyments were walking, sewing, baking, aerobics, reading, being a hockey mom and spending time with her family out at the cabin at Suzanne Lake.

Anne leaves behind her loving husband Herb of 39 years; brother Don (Sharon); daughter Heather (Dave); son Dan (Kirsten); grandsons Keenan and Reese; nieces Jody and Nicky; nephews Gordie, Randy, Richard, Scott and John. Anne was predeceased by her parents Elsie Ray and Dan Logan.

Anne’s family would like to thank all the staff at Joseph’s Creek Care Village for taking such good care of her over the last two years she lived there.

A gathering in honour of Anne’s life will take place at Herb and Anne’s cabin at Suzanne Lake on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
