In the arms of his loved ones, Doug Curlew was promoted to glory on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 82 years. He was born on October 22, 1935 in Deer Lake, NL to parents James and Ida Curlew.
Doug will be forever missed by his devoted wife Gladys; his daughters Holly (Ted) Goulding of Deer Lake, NL, Cathy (Vince) Rubia of Mississauga ON., and Marlene (Claude) Ellsworth of Deer Lake, NL; sons Frank Curlew of Whitehorse, YT, and Perry (Leah) Curlew of Perth ON.
Also left to mourn his passing are Gladys' children: Barbara (Clyde) Osbourne of Sparwood, BC and David (Cindy) Parsons of Fort Kent, AB; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Calvin (Dorothy), Winston (Shirley), Harry (Barbara), and Donald; his sister Sadie Shears, and sisters-in-law Joan and Irene.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, 4 sisters: May, Renee, Mary and Pearl, brothers Jim, Harold, Ray and Roy, sisters-in-law Margaret and Doreen, and his brother-in-law Bud Dinney.
The celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 28th at the Salvation Army. A
Memorial Service will be held in Deer Lake at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
