We share the loss of Michael Harrington on June 13, 2012. Mike was born on September 7, 1953, in Fernie, where he met and married the love of his life, Patsy. They raised a family while adventuring from the Kootenays, Coast to Cariboo and finally Prince George with moves as Store Manager with Overwaitea Foods. He is survived by his daughter Jessica and her husband Brian, his son Mathew and his wife Jolene, who will work to carry on the values of their parents’ marriage. In the last 2 years, his love for grandsons Emerson and Harvey, continued to prove his warmth and depth of heart. Mike is also survived by 2 sisters; Maureen (Frank) Lento and Carol (Glenn) Uphill of Fernie and 4 brothers; Jim (June) of Osoyoos, Pat (Myrna) of Kimberley, Terry (Gena) of Cranbrook and Peter (Marion) of Calgary, as well as brothers-in-law Charlie (Mary) Mattersdorfer, Adam McNaughton and sister-in-law Carol (Ken) Caldwell of Fernie. He also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews. Mike shared his compassion and humour with his family, friends and co-workers. A Celebration of Life was held in the Atrium of the Prince George CN Centre on Saturday, June 16, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
