Michelle was born February 15, 1941 in Misercordi Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was lovingly adopted by Peter Michael and Annette Guay in 1942 and instantly gained a big sister, Helen. The Guay family resided in Brandon Manitoba where Michelle attended St. Michael’s Academy.  At the age of 18, Michelle set off for adventure in Western Canada, moving to Banff, Alberta to work at the Banff Springs Hotel.  While working in Banff, she met Wally Dixon, moved to Fernie, BC and married Wally the following year.  Michelle raised her 4 children and worked throughout her career in various jobs in the Fernie, Elk Valley area, until retiring in 2010.

Michelle was predeceased by her beloved parents, Peter

Michael Guay, Annette Guay and by Gramma Lizotte. Michelle is survived by her beloved sister Helen Lee, Wally Dixon, son, Allan (Vivian) Dixon, daughter, Donna Dixon, son, Gary (Susan) Dixon and daughter Deb (Kim) Ward, as well as 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and beloved cats, Sassy and Babe Ruth.

Michelle loved life and lived every day to the fullest. She found good in everyone, thought positively and didn’t dwell on the negative.  She had a great sense of humour, an infectious smile and a contagious giggle. She loved spending time with her family, going on vacation trips and sport outings with the family and grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan, loved to watch curling and hockey and quite often could be heard yelling at her TV or cheering her grandsons on in the arena while they played hockey. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, made the most delicious bread for her kids and cookies for her grandchildren. Michelle was an avid reader and has been stock piling her Thursday Bingo winning with her friends at Rocky Mountain Care Village.
