Nov 14, 1933 - Jan 1, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Alan Ross announces his passing in the early morning hours of Jan 1, 2018, in Creston, BC, at the age of 84.

Peter was born Nov 14, 1933 in Winnipeg, Man, to Samuel and Annis Ross. His family travelled about the country for Samuel's work, finally settling in Vancouver. Peter attended high school there and became an enthusiastic rugby player. He took courses at UBC and later graduated from BCIT as a surveyor/draftsman. His career gave him the opportunity to work in and enjoy the outdoors and eventually brought him to mining in the Elk Valley. Here, he made his residence in West Fernie and immersed himself in the Valley lifestyle.

He became an avid skier in winter and a passionate gardener in summer. He had a keen interest in hiking, camping, and fishing, along with his hobbies of woodworking, reading and letter writing. Peter believed in fair governance and was a member of the West Fernie Waterworks Assoc. and RDEK Director.

Peter always enjoyed visits with family and friends. In his retirement, Peter's family and his hobbies kept him busy. When his health forced him to finally give up skiing, Peter and his wife moved to a family property in Creston, where he pursued his passion for gardening and being close to loved ones.

Peter leaves behind his wife, Leny; his children Erin (Dave), Fiona, Kieron (Lois), and Nadine (Kevin); his step children John (Vivian), Marie (Rob), Helen (Dave), and Paul; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and his brothers Michael and Terry.

No service by request. There will a family gathering at a later date.
