DELUCA: It is with great sadness we announce that Rose DeLuca passed away at the Elk Valley Hospital on December 27, 2009 at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family. Rose is survived by her loving daughter Irene (Tony) Montanaro and grandchildren Tony & Joliene, and her daughter-in-law Margaret DeLuca, grandson Shawn (Rhoda) and great grandchild Tanner as well as her sister Mary. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor, brother Frank, her husband Rosmer in 1998 and her loving son Joseph (Joey) on January 4, 2009. Rose was born on February 23, 1914 in San-Giovanni in Flore, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1925. She was a gracious, kind and loving person, and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandma. She was loved by all. Rose loved to bake and was a fantastic cook. She loved to babysit, and also enjoyed her many relatives and friends that visited her often. Rose left us all with wonderful memories, and she will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Prayers were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, January 1, 2010. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 2nd with interment following at St. Margaret’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, P.O.
