June 16, 1960 - December 28, 2020
After losing her very courageous battle with cancer, Teresa Fortkamp (nee Terry Lervik) was surrounded by her family as she flew into the Light in her 60th year of life.
A very special thank you go to Dr. Morrison and the Home Care nursing staff and all the staff at Shoppers Drug Mart. You were all phenomenal and we thank each of you once again.
She leaves behind husband Jurgen, daughters Rachel and Jenny and grandchildren, Cody, Skyler, Josh, Alex and Logan; she also leaves her parents, Karl and Libby Lervik, brother Lorry (Kylie), nephews Michael, Derek and Kyle; her sister Susan (Bryan) Bjarnason, nieces Jenna and Christie and nephew Brandon.
Terry moved to Port Hardy in 1966 at the age of six, completed her growing years here then moved with Jurgen and Rachel to Black Creek in 1984 and married Jurgen in 1986. Terry was always known as a "Free Spirit" by her school chums but that often translated into "Little hellion" by her own parents and the parents of her close friends.
She loved life and had many friends and the one thing she could always be counted on for was sticking up for the underdog and bringing home strangers if they needed a bed or a meal; she was always there to help no matter if it was a friend or foe.
Her passions in life were her grandkids, her nieces and nephews, camping, horses, her garden, her friends and her family.
Terry will be sorely missed by friends and family but we know she's now pain free and there was a great big party on the other side welcoming her home after finishing this earthly journey!
She left us with tears in our eyes but also a smile on our faces and a song in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her ashes will be scattered when her garden is in full bloom as she requested.
