It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vi Kryczka on August 4, 2018 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB. She was 84 years of age.
Vi was born in Michel, BC on June 21, 1934. She matured into a beautiful, kind young woman who caught the eye of Theodore Kryczka. On July 10, 1954, the happy couple wed, and they settled in the Crownest Pass the same year. Here they raised their three children in a loving and nurturing home and created countless beautiful memories.
Vi was always one to stay busy and be involved in her community. She took great pride and pleasure in helping others. She was a self-taught accomplished seamstress who touched many lives with her creations and shared her passion through teaching others to sew.
Vi was an avid curler and organized many curling events. She also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, dancing and baking. Vi also cherished the friendships she made with residents and staff at the York Creek Lodge, and truly enjoyed her time there.
Vi's family was her pride and joy; she cherished them above all else. She especially enjoyed family picnics, fishing trips and hosting large family gatherings. Her generous, loving spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by everyone whose lives she touched.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her children, Terry (Jane) Kryczka of Cranbrook, BC, Mark (Peggy) Kryczka of Red Deer, AB and Kathy (Gord) Brecht of Blairmore, AB; her grandchildren, Jeff Kryczka, Lauren (Cody Waugh) Kryczka, Kyle Kryczka, Kirstin Draper and Cole Draper; her step-grandchildren, Melissa Brecht and Lewis Brecht; her nephews, Carl (Sharry) Cimolini and Gene (Velma) Cimolini; numerous other nephews, nieces and extended family; as well as many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Kryczka; her parents, Bessie and Vladislav Troyanek; her sister, Vera Cimolini; and her brother-in-law, Cookie Cimolini.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 9 (7831 - 17 Ave., Coleman, AB) on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the York Creek Lodge Residents' Association (PO Box 1050, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).
