WALTER ALISTAIR ROSS WHITE:

Born in Fernie on Sept. 24th, 1914, “Pop”, as he was known by his family and his many friends, passed away peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. on Jan. 3rd,2010.

He was predeceased by his wife Olive and his oldest son Allan; both of whom passed away in 2006.

Pop was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, reader, crib player, and was a consummate teller of stories about a wide variety of personal experiences that he had during his long life.

He also willingly gave his time to family, neighbours, and friends, when they needed help with projects around their home or property.

He is survived by his daughter Dorothy, granddaughter Colleen, grandson Chris; son Ron (Erika), grandson Ross (Andrea), and great granddaughter Jane; granddaughter Heather (Martin) and great grandson Noel; Daughter in law, Dianne, granddaughter Shawna (Dennis),great granddaughters Kristine and Michelle, and great grandson Sean; grandson Don (Vanessa), great granddaughters Emily and Emma.

The ashes of Walter and Olive will be interned in St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Fernie in the late spring of this year.
