CORRIGAN:

William “Wilco” Corrigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Elk Valley Hospital with loved ones by his side.

Born on October 29, 1930 to parents Owen and Isabella (Branch) Corrigan, William spent his life in the Fernie area. He worked and played in natures backyard. Employed as a coal miner in Coal Creek and Michel, he worked underground for many years.

Relaxing for William meant hunting, fishing, curling, golfing, and carpentry projects. His most recent fishing trip was with his son John and brothers-in-law Donald and William (Bud) to the Elk River for dollies, and to Lake Koocanusa for Kokanee. His favorite pastime was being with his family and friends; he loved a good get-together with his family, especially at the traditional Christmas and New Years dinners that were spent at the homes of his brothers and sisters.

William will be sadly missed by his lifetime friend Ivy Corrigan, son John (Barbara) Corrigan, daughter Isobel Oelke, grandchildren Jeffrey, Bradley, and Jennifer Corrigan and Ty and Rebecca Oelke, as well as brothers and sisters Harry Corrigan, Ronald (Celia) Corrigan, Isobel (William) Henderson and brother-in-law Donald Harrad. He was predeceased by his parents Owen and Isabella, brother Owen (Bonnie) Corrigan, his sister Ida Harrad and sister-in-law Bev Corrigan.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Cherished Memories “Serenity Chapel”.
