I recently walked in the old historic part of our Fernie cemetery. What a disgrace. Our city fathers should be ashamed. In my opinion the mark of a community and a society is not only how they look after the living but how they look after and also respect the deceased. It shows a total lack of respect in our city, from the little historic cemetery by the Silver Ridge sub-division to the main cemetery. It's a disgrace. What could be so attractive and a place where visitors could walk around and admire with a little bit of care, something that is obviously lacking. Kudos to the small band of volunteers who have tried but have had very little help. More emphasis is put on making city hall attractive.
