Proud of Erika

I am writing a letter to the editor as our family is very proud of a local girl that won a gold medal in the Canada Winter Games in women’s hockey.  Her name is Erika Sowchuk and she represented Alberta at the Winter Games that were being held in Halifax.  Our son played hockey with her for many years and her hard work and determination paid off!  She was also short-listed for the under 18 women’s national hockey team.

Erika now plays hockey in Cochrane, Alberta but I know her heart still lives in Fernie.  Way to go Erika, we are very proud of you!
