Strike out
Since his election to Ottawa, our neo-Conservative MP David Wilks has both introduced a private member’s bill on kidnapping and supported his government’s legislated attack on the Air Canada strikers.
Rio Tinto – Alcan has recently locked out 800 workers in Alma, Quebec and Caterpillar has locked out 420 workers at their Electro-Motive Diesel works in London, Ontario.
Can we assume, therefore, that Mr. Wilks, having voted to curtail a strike, will use his newly-acquired parliamentary expertise and introduce a private member’s bill to curtail a corporation’s right to lock out its workers?
