Alpine skiing: Whistler's Renzone wins gold

Rylee Forsyth earns second, while Kayse Panke wins third

Ella Renzone from Whistler has won Friday's BC Winter Games alpine event at Hemlock Resort near Mission. Renzone skied a compiled time of 1:14:28 in the ladies slalom, in a field of 54 competitors.

Rylee Forsyth from Fernie clocked in at 1:15:01, securing second place.

Kayse Panke from Red Mountain came third, with a timing of 1:15:79.

The slalom races took place on Roddy's run at Hemlock, wiht a 103m vertical drop.

The slalom score comprises times from two runs, one in the morning and again in the afternoon.

A medal ceremony will take place on the mountain at 3:30 p.m. today. Tomorrow, the alpine skiers will compete in the giant slalom.
