The FSS Senior Girls Basketball season has finally came to a close after placing eighth overall in the provincials. They just held a spaghetti dinner and silent auction in Jaffray to help offset the cost of their trip. It was a fantastic turnout with delicious spaghetti and scrumptious desserts. It was held in Jaffray because most of the team members were former Jaffray students. Hats off to the parents that worked so hard in the kitchen and doing most of the preparation. Earlier in the season they challenged the Fernie firemen to a game as another fundraiser. In a conversation with head coach, Mr. John Mill, who has coached the FSS Seniors Girls Basketball team for 22 years, he said, “I’m very pleased with the way that they played. The more pressure that was put on the girls the harder and better they played.” He also added that their attitudes were great and it was fun working with them. Good luck to those that graduate this year and Mr. Mill is looking forward to next season.
