Fernie Ghostriders win game five with a shutout and head back to Golden Tuesday night for game six

Fernie Ghostriders win game five with a shutout and head back to Golden Tuesday night for game six. Game five saw no score until the third period where Aaron Neufeld scored at 12:42 from Austin Hirano and Derek Chudyk. With three minutes left in the third period Ben Primeau with a blistering one timer on the power play from Connor Lowe-Wylde and Matt Carr made the game 2-0 which resulted as the final score.

Game five had very little action in the first two periods with both teams playing disciplined hockey with only two penalties each in 40 minutes of play. The third period opened up with the two Ghostrider goals and 11 penalties, five for the Ghostriders and six for the Golden Rockets.

Fernie Ghostriders Chris Solecki earned the shutout with 31 saves and earned second star of the game with his amazing performance. Derek Chudyk earned first star for his overall play in game five with one assist and a two minute penalty for roughing. Chudyk was a force on the ice along with Josh Kluck who dominated in hits all game. These three players made the difference in game 5.
