Just announced, the inaugural “Monster Energy Enemy Lines” at Fernie Resort, April 5-6 featuring 26 of the world's top big mountain skiers.

It's a winner-take-all, no holds barred, big mountain freeskiing race!

Dropping en masse from the top of Fernie's infamous and permanently closed “Lizard Headwall” between Polar and Grizzly Peaks and racing down 3,550 feet of vertical to the bottom of the mountain for $20,000 cash for the first to the finish at the resort village.

Here's what Monster Energy had to say: "Enemy Lines" is not the first of it’s kind, however, it’s the first time in history (so far as we know) that this type of race, made famous in the cult ski film “Hot Dog,” will take place as a professional sport with the first one across the finish line winning not only bragging rights but the big cheque as well."

The Lizard Headwall which towers above Fernie Resort has been permanently closed to skiers for the past two decades. But with lots of named lines like 8 Ball, Spine Tingler, Curve Ball, Plastic Jesus, and JIJO you know the Headwall is a storied descent, making the anticipation of Monster Energy Enemy Lines all the more heightened.

The Enemy Lines Qualifier, on Friday, April 5 will also be an insane event to see. It's a timed seeding race that will start at the top of Polar Peak, in terrain that is also permanently closed to skiers, and finishes near Giggly Gully at the bottom of the Lizard Bowl.
