Students at Frank J Mitchell Elementary School were the champions of the 30th annual Kikomun Run two weeks ago.
Elkford, Fernie and Jaffray schools also competed in the run and students pushed themselves to do their best. Grades 2 and 3 students in the novice division ran one kilometre and Grades 4, 5 and 6 students in junior and senior divisions ran the entire perimeter of Surveyors Lake in the South Country totaling three kilometres.
“We all had a lot of fun and all of the students tried really hard. They did amazing, and we had an FJMES student place in every category,” said coach Tammy Temrick.
