The Golden Rockets lost to the Fernie Ghostriders in double overtime on Tuesday Dec. 20.

The Golden Rockets fought a tough battle against the top team in the division on Tuesday (Dec. 20).

The Rockets opened up the scoring early against the Fernie Ghostriders with a goal from Bryden Marsh, sending teddy bears flying onto the ice.

Golden gained a three-goal lead over the Ghostriders in the second period. They managed to hold onto the lead for most of the game, but Fernie scored the equilizer with less than 20 seconds, sending the game into overtime.

One overtime period was not enough to settle the game. The teams headed into a second, three-on-three, overtime period, with the Rockets down a player.

Fernie capitalized on their power play opportunity, and ended the game 13 seconds in.

The final score was 5-4 for Fernie.
