Outstanding athletes from the Crowsnest Pass Track and Field Club were presented awards at a ceremony in Edmonton last week.

Each year Athletics Alberta, (the governing body for track & field in Alberta), hosts a formal awards banquet to honour the outstanding athletes of the year in all age categories from Peewee up to and including the Provinces Olympic and World Championship athletes.

This year’s ceremony took place in Edmonton on February 12, 2011.

Passtrak (the Crowsnest Pass Track and Field Club), had five athletes who received awards for their efforts during the 2010 season.

Passtrak produced three of the top 10 Peewee age, (10 and 11 year old), male athletes of the year. They were Dustin White from Sparwood, Zion Ratudradra from Elkford and Jozef Reichel from Elkford.

One Passtrak athlete, Alisi Ratudradra from Elkford, received an award for being one of the top 10 female Peewee athletes in Alberta for 2010.

The club’s fifth award went to Brittany Mitchell from Fernie as one of the top 10 Bantam, (12 and 13 year old), girls in the province during the 2010 season.

The selection of the award winners was based on their results in competitions throughout the 2010 outdoor track & field season.
