Soccer season kicks off in Fernie

The soccer season is already in the seventh week here in the Elk Valley, and 390 kids are playing the sport, in seven age divisions.

The soccer season is already in the seventh week here in the Elk Valley, and 390 kids are playing the sport, in seven age divisions.

 

Under 18 standings:

(up to & including May 28)

 

Team A (Orange) and Team B (Green) are tied for first place with five wins and one loss.

Team C (Red) are in second place and Team D (Purple) hold the third spot.

 

Coaches are:

Team A – Dan McSkimming

Team B – Fred Voysey

Team C – Tyler DeMartini

Team D – Jerrad Workum

 

League play will take this division to June 13. Playoffs will be June 18 and 20. These teams play Monday and Wednesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fernie Secondary and Max Turyk soccer fields.
