At the home opener on September 24 Don Siska dropped the ceremonial puck to commemorate the Ghostriders 20th season. Siska was the Vice President of the club during the inaugural 1991-92 season and was one of the founding fathers of the team. The late George Majic was President that year. Few remember the past Presidents but here we do. Their names appear in the order that they entered our lives and the number is for the years they governed.

Ghostriders chase Heat

The Fernie Ghostriders extended their winning streak to four on Friday evening, with a lopsided 6 – 1 win over the visiting Chase Heat. The strong start to October improves the Riders record to an impressive eight wins and one loss, in a month that has seen them outscore opposing teams 16 to 3.

Under overcast skies and with the temperature hovering around ten degrees celsius, runners, organizers, walkers and spectators gathered at the Annex Park for the Fernie Half Marathon Race, Sunday.

After holding on for a win in Creston on Friday, the Fernie Ghostriders returned home and continued their strong play with a solid 60 minute effort on Saturday evening, soundly defeating the visiting Spokane Chiefs 3 – 1.
