A new hospital bed will help people who are coming to the end of their lives to get the care they need.
The new bed was bought with the help of donations from community groups, including a $12,500 community grant from the East Kootenay Community Credit Union.
The grant money was put towards facilitating a grief circle and purchasing a bed for the palliative care room in the Elk Valley Hospital.
The grief circle took place in Jaffray in the fall of 2010. The bed was purchased and arrived in April of this year.
