Snowmobiler suffers heart attack

A snowmobiler from Sparwood died from a heart attack last week while out in the Hartley Lake area enjoying the spring snow.

A snowmobiler from Sparwood died from a heart attack last week while out in the Hartley Lake area enjoying the spring snow.

The B.C. Ambulance Service were called at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and called Fernie Search and Rescue who attended the scene with a helicopter.

The 48 year old man had collapsed with a heart attack while out sledding as part of a group.

Despite efforts to resuscitate the man on the scene, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Elk Valley Hospital.
