French Immersion students at Fernie Secondary School and Isabella Dicken Elementary School raised around $750 as part of their Journee Nationale des Croissant (National Croissant Day.)

Isabella Dicken students in Madame Oscienny’s Grades 5 and 6 French Immersion class celebrated National Croissant day by enjoying croissants for lunch.

The Fernie Secondary School staff and students helped make all the croissants for both schools, and customers could have their croissants with ham and cheese or Nutella.

This was the third year that the schools have teamed up with Canadian Parents for French to take part in National Croissant Day, and this year Isabella Dicken sold out of all 300 croissants.

The money raised will go towards buying books for the French Immersion students, and helping to fund activities like theatre workshops and presentations, and this year the Fernie Secondary students were also raising money for their Quebec exchange in May.
