Parents with teenage kids can join a new support group in Elkford.
The free education and support group is for parents with children in grades seven to 12 and is an opportunity for parents with children who are at similar ages and stages to support and learn from one another.
The safe and confidential group will discuss issues they are facing raising their children. The group will be led by a trained facilitator and will cover topics such as acknowledging and appreciating our strengths as parents, what’s great about teens, what’s hard in our relationships with teens, school, sex and relationships, substance use, setting limits and staying close, and co-parenting and single parenting.
It will run for five Wednesdays starting March 28 to April 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Elkford Secondary School.
