National volunteer Appreciation week this year runs from April 14th-20th. Since the beginning of covid it has been challenging recruiting volunteers but our regular volunteers have returned with a few new volunteers coming on board. Prior to covid we had around 80 volunteers. We hope to keep recruiting volunteers to exceed that number. Whether you have one day a week or a few times a month to share with are seniors we are open to getting you started.

Our volunteers provide an invaluable service to our seniors. We have volunteers who provide music entertainment, provide spiritual support, provide outings on the cycling without age bikes, develop and provide personal music to our seniors, play board games and cards, assist with special events, visit individually with our seniors taking them for walks, or just simply sitting and holding a hand.

We are always open to new volunteers joining our team. If you would like to become a volunteer and make a difference in someone’s day call 250-423-4214 ext.208 or email at: smoulton@glm.ca.
