The annual Community Yard Sale is back. Mark your calendar for Saturday May 27th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elk Valley residents are invited to collect the items they no longer use out of their attics, sheds and basements and help them find new homes.

All households, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to take part in this town-wide spring cleaning hosted by Wildsight Elk Valley. With inflation continuing to rise, reusing and thrifting has never been trendier. Buying second-hand not only makes economic sense, but it is also good for the environment: it avoids putting more items in landfills by giving it a second home.

Yard sales may seem old school but they remain an excellent way to get to know your neighbors, explore your community in a unique way and find unexpected gems. Participating by hosting a Yard Sale as part of the annual Community Yard Sale helps you access increased traffic to your event, yard sale signs and benefit from additional print and online advertising

Being a part of the Community Yard Sale is easy: participants pay a $20 fee and register before May 20th to be featured on the official map..

All proceeds go towards supporting environmental education programming in Fernie and surrounding areas. Registration forms and payment can be dropped at the Local Store at 632 2nd Ave or completed online at www.wildsight.ca/yardsale.

Get ready to dust off your unused goods and get thrifty.
