Duo #2 as they perform one of there gripping folk rock songs

Duo Number Two is a Canadian two-piece folk-rock band coming to perform in Fernie this Saturday night. Sean Poissant (guitars and vocals) and Dave MacCuish (banjo, kick drum, harmonica) have been friends and song writing partners for a long time. The biography for the band can really only be found in the strangely addictive melodies, chords and words that culminate into their songs. An unbridled passion for music can be heard in each track throughout their debut release “The Longest Road” and the energy felt during live performance only fuels the fire within the guitar/banjo duo. The idea to play percussion simultaneously is said to have stemmed from a  joke that surfaced during many a jam sessions, they tried it once and never looked back. Now, the two twenty-something boys are on a mission to bring their nostalgic yet eccentric fusion of genres to as many audiences as is humanly possible. Show after show listeners of all sorts; from heavy metal fans, to rock and rollers, to bluegrass enthusiasts, the duo seems to be recruiting fans without prejudice. “We’re fans of all sorts of music,” says the group, “music is the only thing we believe in, it’s all we ever want to do and we hope to be able to do nothing but”. For now, their journey continues and if you want to know anything more about the band just listen to the music, it will tell you a tell a story which written words will never match.

Duo Number Two will be playing at the Grand Central Bar on Saturday September 17. It is part of the Dirt Diggler bike race after party.
