The film tells the tale of a poor Delhi street merchant desperately searching for his missing son. Mahendra, who mends zippers in the streets of New Delhi, sends his 12 year-old son Siddharth to work in a factory in another province to support their family. When Siddarth fails to return home for the holiday of Diwali, Mahendra embarks upon a moving, tangled, and often seemingly futile journey to find his son.
A powerful story about the ramifications of a single decision and the limitations that result from poverty, it underscores that in the face of the unspeakable, one must keep moving forward.
Filmed in India, Siddharth is told in Hindi with English subtitles.
