Mountain bikers are gearing up for a big weekend as Fernie Alpine Resort hosts their fifth Annual Mountain Bike Festival, this year presented by NOS.
The Festival will celebrate all things mountain bike related, attracting avid competitors and recreational riders of all levels. Last year’s event proved to be a great success with over 100 event competitors and over 1,200 spectators over the event weekend.
Highlights will include a dual slalom race with a live DJ on Friday, the Enduro downhill race and the Wam Bam dirt jump jam on Saturday and the Classic Downhill Race on Sunday.
All weekend there will be free bike skills and basic bike maintenance clinics, and bike trials demonstrations.
But don’t be put off if you prefer using your legs to wheels.
“This event is great for family, hardcore mountain bikers, spectators and everyone in between,” said Matt Mosteller, from Fernie Alpine Resort.
