Armed Robbery – Police Seek Information

The Elk Valley RCMP are looking for information in relation to a armed robbery that happened in Sparwood on Tuesday.

Police in the Elk Valley are investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the convenience store located in Sparwood Heights. The incident occurred just before 10:00 pm.

A male suspect wearing an orange colour toque over his face carrying a backpack entered the store at closing time. The suspect then brandished a handgun and demanded the victim put all the money from the till into his backpack. The suspect subsequently fled the scene on foot without obtaining any money.

The suspect is described as:

 male, late teens or early 20’s

 small in stature (thin build)

 average height (approximately 5’6” to 5’8”)

 was described as having “crystal blue” eyes with dirty blonde or light brown eye-lashes.

Clothing description:

 dark colour jeans and dark hoodie

 had a bright orange colour “hunting toque” over his face (the toque had 2 holes cut out for his eyes)

 carrying a black and grey backpack
