On Sunday, October 17 cadets from 2757 Fernie Royal Canadian Army Cadets spent some time clean at St. Margaret’s Cemetery. While cleaning up the area around the Cenotaph, the cadets were amazed by the number of veterans laid to rest in our town. They cleared fallen branches, picked up garbage and cleaned off grave markers.

Participating in community service is one of the aims of the cadet program. Throughout the pandemic, the cadet corps has had to pivot from in-person, to virtual, to outdoor training for their meetings.

The 2757 Fernie RCAC meet on Wednesday evenings and the program is for youth ages 12-18. If you’re interested in learning more about cadets, check out www.cadets.ca or contact Captain Sherri Shaw, 250-946-6868.
