Child hit by car in Elkford; driver not at fault

A child has escaped serious injury after being hit by a car in Elkford overnight.

In a statement issued late Monday, the Elk Valley RCMP said the incident occurred in a residential area with the child taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

“Through the course of the investigation police determined that the collision was unavoidable and the driver of the vehicle was not charged,” read the statement.
