Curlers had a friendly game of competition on Feb. 10 at the Sparwood Curling Club’s Vintage Valentine’s Bonspiel.
The event started out with 18 teams representing Sparwood, Elkford, Fernie, Kimberley, Crowsnest Pass and Calgary, and only six made it to the finals. Participants wore their best vintage curling attire.
The Mark Podrasky team played against the Danny Mercerau team in the A Final. The game was close, but Mercerau edged forward with the last rock to take the win.
Steve Smith team played a fierce game and took the lead on the Walburger team in B Final, while Mike Harrington team topped Shawn Endicott team in the C Final.
Bagpiper Noel Bullock gave the opening performance.
