Like many small rural communities in B.C., Elkford has its issues with wildlife. The District is currently looking for four individuals to sit on the Urban Wildlife Committee. The committee advises Council on urban wildlife conservation, minimization/management of human-wildlife conflicts, track and report numbers/statistics, and recommend methods of public education related to urban wildlife within Elkford’s boundaries. One member of Elkford Council also sits on the committee.
This new committee replaces the former Urban Wildlife Management Advisory Committee. There is a meeting once every four months.
The deadline to serve on the committee is March 20, 2023 and you can apply here.
