The Fernie Academy showed off the artisitic talents of all its elementary students today with an exhibition of art work.
The impressive artwork ranged from paintings to pottery.
The artwork is the result of projects the students worked on throughout the school year.
"The variety of mediums and expressions illustrate an extensive learning of medium manipulation and art history," said Jocelyn Somprowski, school principal. "From Modigliani to Matisse, the students have created works of art both 2 and 3D that decorate the halls with a colourful display for fellow students, parents and community members."
The school opened the display to the public all week. "We are proud to share the energy and creativity of our students," said Sombrowski. "Our goal is that each student has a chance to express themselves artistically and will grow to develop an understanding of Art History and an appreciation of the arts to last a lifetime."
