Fernie Ghostriders lose game one

Fernie Ghostriders lose game one three to one vs The Golden Rockets in Game one of the second round of the KIJHL playoffs

Fernie Ghostriders lose three to one vs The Golden Rockets in Game one of the second round of the KIJHL playoffs.

The Ghostriders did outshout the Golden Rockets 41 to 36 but could not capitalize with goals. The Riders did however get two goals called off as the Golden Rockets goalie James Leonard kicked off the goal which looked like on purpose both times the Fernie goal was called off with the second time getting a delay of game penalty in which the Riders Anthony Gardner capitalized for the Riders only goal of the night.

Game two goes Wednesday night at 7:30 in Fernie and the Riders need more fans at the game as only 640 fans showed to game one.

The Golden Rockets did have a very strong night and round one against the Kimberley Dynamiters. The Fernie Ghostriders are going to need a strong net presence if they want to beat Golden Rockets goalie James Leonard and KIJHL top goal getter Connor Beauchemin.

Another key to the series will be Josh Kluck taking the lead in shutting down The Golden Rockets top players like Connor Beauchemin as he did in the first round shutting down Brendan Burge from the Columbia Valley Rockies
