Wildsight Elk Valley has expanded the hours of operation for Local, its grocery store located downtown at 632 2 Ave. Local seeks to support farmers and producers by selling sustainable produce and food products year-round. Wildsight is a not-for-profit whose goals include protecting plant and animal biodiversity and fostering sustainability.

In direct response to input from community members, Wildsight Elk Valley’s social enterprise Local is excited to announce extended opening hours.
After a recent survey which drew participation from over 90 local residents, we are pleased to adjust Local’s schedule with the aim to make fresh locally-produced food available to more members of the Elk Valley community this harvest season.
Launched August 22nd, our new opening schedule is as follows:
Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 1:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Thursday: 1:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday: 1:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Notably, Local will now open earlier on Tuesdays and Fridays, welcoming morning shoppers at 10:00 a.m. This change accommodates more Elk Valley families and creates an additional volunteer shift, vital for our social enterprise which flourishes thanks to the support and dedication of our community members, supporters and volunteers.
