A: Challenges facing the next Sparwood mayor and council are multi-faceted.   The issues range from economic, environmental, fiscal responsibility and transparency, and good governance. I think the biggest challenge is to make sure there is a balance between all of the above so that one issue does not overshadow the other and the community as a whole benefits. Mayor and council have an obligation and responsibility to facilitate and support community involvement and growth. This must be done in a fair and unbiased manner to ensure one aspect of the community is not given precedence at the expense of another.
