There’s a new cafe in Sparwood, with 11:11 Cafe serving coffee, daily meals and more since December last year.

Owner and operator, Louise Joinson said that while they were still a little unknown, more locals were discovering them right next to the Save-on-Foods in the Greenwood Mall.

“I have regular customers already, and things are picking up,” she said.

Joinson, who has worked in cafes before said that the 11:11 Cafe was all about her passion to not be disabled.

“I was tired of people telling me I couldn’t do stuff,” she said, explaining that a bad back had limited her for 11 years now.

“When this chance fell in my lap, I hopped on it to show everyone I could do it.

“It seems that I’m getting stronger here.”

The 11:11 Cafe does all the typical cafe fare - hot drinks, muffins and more, but they also serve daily specials (pulled pork sandwiches on Mondays, butter chicken on Fridays and something different every day), make cakes in-house and even do deliveries after 4:30pm every day.

“It has been awesome,” said Joinson. “I really like my customers and talking with everyone.

“This cafe is my inspiration.”

All the special items on the menu are made from scratch, in-house.

The 11:11 Cafe is open from 9:30-4:30 six days a week (closed Sundays), and is located across from the entrance to Save-on-Foods inside the Greenwood Mall in Sparwood. You can find them on Facebook.
