A rainfall warning was issued for the Elk Valley on Tuesday (Nov. 30).
According to Environment Canada, a “prolonged period of heavy rain” is expected Tuesday through to Wednesday (Dec. 1). The total rainfall is expected to be between 50 and 70 millimetres.
“There is potential for increased runoff due to snowmelt, increasing the risk of flooding.”
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.”
“Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.”
