Sparwood residents being evacuated due to flooding

With the recent heavy rainfall in and around Sparwood, areas in the vicinity of the lower end of GN Road, have experienced flooding.

With the recent heavy rainfall in and around Sparwood, areas in the vicinity of the lower end of G North Road, have

experienced flooding.

Residents in that of G North Road have been requested to evacuate.

Work crews for the District of Sparwood and Teck are mobilizing equipment and are on scene.

An additional area of concern is the CPR Railway bridge over Michel Creek, adjacent to Mountain View Mobile

Home Park. CPR Crews are also on site to address debris that is accumulating at the bridge abutments. Due to the potential of additional debris upstream becoming dislodged, residents of Mountain View Mobile Home Parkare being evacuated.

A reception centre for residents has been set up at Fire Hall #1, 471 Pine Avenue.
