The Village of Salmo has hired Ange Qualizza as its new chief administrative officer.

Qualizza served as mayor of Fernie from 2018 to 2022.

A news release from the Village of Salmo states that Qualizza sat on the presidents committee of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities for two years. She has worked in the field of economic development and in the non-profit world, holds two degrees in economics, and is a small business owner.

“Ms. Qualizza brings local government experience to the role,” says Salmo mayor Diana Lockwood. “She has experience working with the current leadership in B.C. and brings a lot of enthusiasm for the work of local governments.

“We look forward to Ms. Qualizza working with staff to support council’s goals, and helping us to promote Salmo as a wonderful community to live in.”
